History

Sterling Knight, established in 1973, serving global, international, regional and local companies in insurance and risk management consultancy.

Sterling Knight is a licensed insurance broker in Singapore, and we are regulated and licensed by the Monetary Authority in Singapore to transact general and group life insurance.

We are the first and only Corporate Chartered  Insurance Brokers in Singapore accredited by The Chartered Insurance Institute of London.

Since our inception in 1973, we have worked with clients to protect their businesses and employees, through the provision of general insurance, specie insurance and employee benefits consultancy, according to the principles of integrity, trust and speed.

Norma J. Harrison

Professor of Management and Acting Dean at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM).

She served for three years at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) as Professor of Operations Management. She was previously Foundation Head of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).  

Professor Harrison's doctoral research was in Manufacturing Strategy and her teaching, research and consulting interests are in the areas of innovation and technology management, sustainable supply chains, the globalization of operations, performance improvement and best practices.

Her book on Technology Management (McGraw-Hill USA) was translated into Chinese by Tsinghua University in 2004. She has published numerous articles in academic journals and refereed proceedings, and continues to serve on journal editorial review boards.

Since 1990, she has organized major conferences and seminars in production and operations management, and is presently preparing the conduct of the International Production and Operations Management Society conference in Sydney (Dec 2017).  Professor Harrison has been involved in global benchmarking projects within both service and manufacturing industries for the past 25 years.  

In addition to consulting in private industry, Professor Harrison has worked in collaboration with Australian State and Federal governments and Chinese industry to conduct innovation audit programs and reviews of international best practices. She has served as a Council Member in the NSW Asia Business Advisory Council; Governing Board Member of the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ); and a Member of the Council on the Cost & Quality of Government (NSW).

Professor Harrison has been President and Member of the Board of Directors of the (International) Decision Sciences Institute DSI (2007-2010), the Asia-Pacific DSI (2006-2013) and Western DSI (West Coast USA/Canada).  She has been an elected Board Member of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS – 2001-2003).  She continues to be a Member of the above associations as well as Member of the (International) Academy of Management, and the Australian & NZ Academy of Management (ANZAM).
